AR Table Football

The work

This Sky prototype explored how live match data could be turned into a physical-feeling replay experience in augmented reality. Instead of watching a conventional broadcast view, users could place a miniature football match on a table and watch real passages of play unfold in front of them, driven by player and ball location data.

Delivery detail

• Built a prototype that mapped real match tracking data into an AR tabletop experience.
• Replayed football sequences using positional data for both players and the ball rather than hand-authored animation.
• Explored a new viewing format for sport: spatial, interactive and detached from the fixed TV camera angle.
• Tested how broadcast data could power a compact replay experience suitable for demos, product exploration and future second-screen concepts.
